Frequently Asked Questions ?
From what age do you see children for therapy?
This varies and depends on the reasons a parent is seeking therapy. Generally, we see children from as young as a few months old right through to high school aged children.
What is the average duration of a therapy session?
We recommend starting with a 30 minute session and if your child can cope with this length of time, to extend the session to 45 or 60 minutes. The length of sessions depends on the attention span of each child.
How many sessions will my child need?
This is probably the most commonly asked question. We cannot predict the amount of sessions a child will require as each child’s needs and personality differ. The minimum amount of sessions we recommend is 10-12 (approximately 3 months). Therapists constantly provide feedback to parents and discuss the child’s progress with parents and if more intensive therapy is indicated, this will be discussed with parents during feedback sessions.
What are your assessment and/or therapy fees?
Please contact us via e-mail for more information on fees.
Are you contracted to medical aids?
No, we run a cash practice. We kindly request that clients settle their accounts in cash (cash or EFT) and then submit claims to their respective medical aids.
Do I need to pay for an assessment or therapy in advance?
Assessments can be paid in advance, or on the day of assessment. Therapy sessions are usually billed at the end of the month in which therapy was given. Please contact you therapist to find out more information regarding payment options. Cash en electronic fund transfers are accepted. We do not have point of sale facilities available.
